Sunday for the NM State Qualifier Julian made it through the elimination rounds and on to the Main Event for 10 Expert. Julian battled with other riders and came in 5th. The 09 Season rolls on
New Mexico state Qualifer #1 at Duke City BMX was awsome. Recently heard that the Aztec Riverside BMX is online and will be hosting the Redline Cup as well as the New Mexico State Qualifer#2! The Spring National is just around the corner at our home track at Duke City BMX and we are training now for that!
Dad lost his cruiser off the back if the SUV a while back as some may know. So the replacement Cruiser is undergoing construction as we speak. Photos will be posted of the new ride when she is done.
Recently had contact with Ysaí Méndez who runs the http://barquisimetobmx.blogspot.com/ site in Venezuela! It is nice to see BMX growing at a global level! If you get a chance check them out they look fast down there!
Rock on!

Gonzales Racing hits the 08 ABA Grand Nationals

The gang had a great time at the Grands this year. The kids got a shot with a couple 2008 Olympic BMX Racers! on the left that is Donny Robinson & Mike Day on the right in the above photo.
We recieved the 2009 505 Racing team jersey's while in Tulsa and they look great!
Hey look below at what Dad brought home from racing at the Grands! Not bad for an "old guy"
Dad's recap of his main event: "On day 2 of racing I made it up through the semi’s and on to the Main event. I pulled them all out of the gate and got a little funky with my nose down over the 2nd obstacle……entered into turn #1 a bit too high… a guy pushing hard from the rear left and 2 more from just right of me gave me the “squeeze of love” right off the top of the berm. I flew through the banners at the top and over the back side. Jumped up climbed back up the hill, tossed my bike back over the berm and finished with 7th out of 8 in the main event for 36 & older novice with my broken front spokes clanking against the forks.
Now that’s racing! It was a blast. can't wait to see the video"

A warm farewell to Teammate & Friend "Captian" Matt Juneau
It has been confirmed that our friend & team mate Matt did not survive the aircraft mishap he was invloved in this week. Matt Raced 51-55 Mens Cruiser for 505 Racing. Matt was a very calm & confident person always willing to offer a word of encouragement and wisdom to riders & the team.
Matt will be missed by all who's lives he had touched. Our prayers go out to his family & friends.
Matt you will be missed but not forgotten.
As a memorial for recent the loss of rider "Captain" Matt Juneau, Duke City BMX had a moment of silence with a special gate dropping as the 505 Racing Team stood in the gate. Riders at Duke City BMX that competed today wore decals in memory of Matt.

Duke City BMX Riders set new record!

This past Sunday at Duke City BMX ther was a new record set for rider attendance! They saw 131 riders come out to the track today to race. This is a huge & wonderful thing to see. Duke City BMX usually only see's numbers like this for special races. It has been said that the combination of the recent BMX Olympics, Loaner Bike program, and the recent positive media coverage they have received has helped raise local awareness for the track.
